Building the Future: Progress continues on construction at the new Senior Center building at Elings Square
We are starting to see some amazing things happening at the construction site. The stucco siding has been completed, and the roof tiles have been installed. The sheetrock is nearly completed inside of the building. The Heating and Air conditioning system is being set up, and the lighting and fixtures are being hung. The inside and the views from the high windows are stunning. We are currently watching the parking lot and outside gathering area being brought to the final grade where the pavers can be placed. We are getting so close and WE CAN’T WAIT TO WELCOME YOU!!
How much longer?
We are not going to promise exactly when things are going to be completed, but we can tell you things are going along quite smoothly! We are hoping to be in our new home by Fall! Halloween just might be one of the first of many holidays that we will celebrate in our new beautiful space!
Here are a few highlights of recent construction activity.
Here is a look at the new upper level Entrance to the center.
With the sidewalk complete and passing inspection this entrance/exit door will be ready for business once the center has opened.
Up on the second floor you can look down and see the Great Room area of the Senior Center.
There will be, accordion style, room dividers installed in the north corner of the downstairs Great Room for smaller activities and events.
This is our new Library room.
There will be cabinets and shelving for books and a computer area.
We have watched them working inside and things are really looking nice.
This is going to be an amazing place to meet up with friends in our community at the Center
What is coming up?
There is lots more construction and details to finish up before the Center is ready for us to move in.
Here is what will be happening soon:
Grading the parking lot area for the Center to allow for proper drainage and then adding pavers.
Bringing the side patio area to grade, adding pavers and construction of an outdoor recreation area with a bocce ball court.
Installing flooring in the main areas.
Completing the Utility hookups for water gas , electric and internet.
Installing cabinets in our new library area.
Finish installation of kitchen equipment.
Install landscaping around the building.
Completion (and certification) of the Elevator in the building.
Final touch up on paint.
Bringing in the furniture prior to move in.
Opening the Doors for the New Center.
